August has come to a close, but that doesn’t mean Summer is quite over yet! While most of us think it twice before going out for an expensive dinner, staying home isn’t the only budget-friendly option there is!

That’s why we bring you this list of romantic activities – some are free, some need some spare change, but all of them let you focus on what’s important: enjoying your time together and having a memorable day with your loved one.

1. A Day At The Beach in Palawan Beach, Sensota

Located at the centre of Sensota, Palawan Beach is covered in tall and swaying palm trees that decorate the glistening white sand and turquoise sea of this lively beach, full of bars, restaurants and, for those bringing the kids along, the Pirate-themed water park “Port Of The Lost World”.

Be it by spending a day swimming in the clear waters or just lazying around enjoying the warm sun, a day at the beach is always a very good time.

2. Golf Like A Champion At Champion’s Golf

Located near the Bukit Timah residential district, Champion’s Golf is a 9-holes course that provides couples with a premium outdoor teeing experience full of physical activity, all inside the most beginner-friendly golf course of Singapore.

Champion’s Golf features a golf academy, a stocked shop, quality restaurants and even mini golf courses, and it’s open every day of the week all year round from 7am to 6pm. Entrances start at just SGD15.

3. A Ride Through The Ketam Mountain Bike Park

Right around Pulau Ubin sits Singapore’s prime bike park; Ketam Mountain Bike Park, consisting of 10km of mountain bike trail surrounded by 45-hectares of hills, rocks, roots and mini-skills parks.

Not to mention, Ketam Mountain Bike Park is also Singapore’s only park approved by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) making it a top choice for both romantic leisure and those looking for a more exciting day at the track field.

4. A Day At The National Museum

The National Museum of Singapore boasts the unique combination of being the oldest museum around, yet keeping a progressive mind with its cultural exhibitions sporting cutting-edge technology and multi-perspective presentations.

If you are looking for a different date, do take a look at the intriguing and thought-provoking world of arts (and best of all, it’s completely free).

5. Prepare Delicious Home-Made Ice Cream

Cooking in pairs isn’t too unusual (we hope!), but there’s a lot more energy and laughter involved when both of you know such a sweet treat is awaiting at the end.

Home-made ice cream is surprisingly easy to make, and since it’s only you two whom indulge in it, it can have any ingredient or flavour you can come up with.

We recommend the banana ice cream recipe, which takes only 10-or-so minutes and a single ingredient (the bananas), needs no special machines and has the most creamy texture and delightful flavour you could ask for.
