Returning for the last instalment of “Let’s Lepak at Mount Faber” on 1 October, the popular Orienteering and Nature Trail activities are set to offer families and children an opportunity to get up close and personal with the flora and fauna at Mount Faber, and to take in the invigorating views of the city skyline and the Sentosa-Harbourfront precinct from different vantage points.
The first activity features a Southern Ridges Heritage and Nature Trail. Co-organised by Mount Faber Leisure Group and NParks, the two-hour walk kicks off at 4.30pm at Telok Blangah Hill Park, passing through Henderson Waves and Mount Faber Loop which will be closed off from traffic for the car-free event, before ending at the hilltop at Faber Peak.
Interested participants are required to register, please click on the link below.
Co-organised by Active SG, the second event features Orienteering, a sport where runners have to find their way across terrains with the aid of a map and compass, utilising both navigation and map reading skills. The Orienteering activity is between 4pm – 6.30 pm and starts from Mount Faber Loop. Each participant is challenged to complete all ten checkpoints, with an opportunity to win prizes upon completion of the event.
To register for the Orienteering activity, please download the ActiveSG App and search for ‘Orienteering @ Mount Faber 2016 – 1st Oct’.
Organised by Mount Faber Leisure Group through the ‘Streets for People’ initiative, and supported by NParks, ‘Let’s Lepak at Mount Faber’ is aligned towards Singapore’s push to become a “car-lite” city.Tags: nature trails singapore
