I have done something completely different within the diet industry and many people now want to know how I lost so much weight without weighing my successes. I decided in 2015 after 25 years of riding the diet roller coaster that I would throw the scales away and start measuring my losses and not be concerned with what the number on the scales said.
Society has conditioned us to believe that what you weigh determines your success and worth – “How much have you lost?” “How many kilos have you lost?” “How can I lose 5 kilos in a month” it goes on and on.
The day I decided to throw the scales away I took the power back and my life changed, my attitude towards food changed and I would not let the number on the scales determine my success.
I would like to introduce myself my name is Rae Graham. I am a single mum who has lost over 3 metres of FAT off my body by measuring nine parts of my body.
For more than 25 years, I, like many Australian women has battled the bulge!
I am a hardworking, single mum that has ridden numerous dietary roller coasters, working hard to lose the kilos, only to see them return with interest the moment I relaxed my many and often torturous regimes.
That was until June 2015 when I stepped off the scales and started counting centimetres instead of kilograms.
Incredibly, the bathroom scales which were once a source of significant personal grief have been discarded, along with most of my wardrobe.
I shed these centimetres in just a few short and relatively easy months. I have gone from a size 20-22 to a size 14.
- No Drastic Surgery.
- No expensive crash diets.
- No relentless boot camp sessions.
I decided to stop dieting and start living. Determined to achieve a size I was not only comfortable with, but that made me feel good about myself.
Incredibly as the centimetres started to drop off, my confidence grew.
What started out as “the next chapter” in what has been a long and frustrating battle with the bulge quickly emerged as a life changing and in many ways life fulfilling program that I now want to share with the world and let them know you can throw the scales away and become completely happy with what your clothes feel like on instead of what the number on the scales say.
I wrote a Best Selling Book on Amazon to share my story “#3METREGIRL How I lost 3 metres of FAT and got off the roller coaster of dieting” about what it’s like to diet for 25 years, the good, bad and ugly of my life, the heartache I have suffered, the terrible choices I made from being so overweight, the despair, how lonely I felt, how I would put a smile on everyday but was dying on the inside all in the quest to be a size 8 and how I finally conquered my weight loss demons and started to feel good about myself for the first time in my life.
