Modern ways to rock this glittery trend, minus the disco flashbacks.

As you already know, sequins are one of the hottest looks of the season and here are five modern methods to pull it off!
1. Leave out the jewellery

If you're going for the brights, like the hot pink Naeem Khan sheath that Elizabeth Hurley had on, then perhaps it's best if you let that be your jewellery of for the night. Brights, sequins and jewellery is just overdoing it.
2. Taking on techni-colour

The Alberta Ferretti number, as spotted on actress Rose Byrne, showcases the modern sequin frock the way it should be – fun, ladylike and colourful. Take centre-stage by keeping to neutral accessories.
3. Darkness can still shine

Additional glitters on a dark-based colour like black, midnight blue or such, will totally turn up the glam factor without going OTT.
4. Put on a sensible jacket

Gold is perhaps the only colour that has been able to survive through the decades. It is gold after all. Follow Nikki Reed's lead by wearing a boyfriend blazer over a shimmery gold dress, teamed with edgy accessories, and get an unexpected twist to the look.
5. Sequins as prints

Think low-key like Jennifer Garner in her Gucci sequinned frock if head-to-toe glitter is too much for you to handle.
