Isabel Marant Fall 2009 RTW Collection

Every fashion designer's dream is to have their designs up on a runway. Some manages it, some fail. Isabel Marant definitely made it.

But Isabel Marant isn't like other designers, she "makes clothes that girls want to wear." In other words, they are not the kind of stuff that goes on fashion spreads in magazines, but the kind you would wear on the streets.

Now, every collection has a theme, a purpose, a concept. Brief but sure, Marant explains, "the attitude was glam rock meets London bad boys, circa the late fifties and early sixties." Simply said, it's an effortlessly elegant, knits paired with silk and fur!

However, despite my love for fur and such, in a 365 days summer environment, it's a little difficult to wear the pieces presented. Therefore, out of the 46 pieces showcased in this gallery, I personally dig and would wear the following:

A handful of fashion grouse would say that this collection is too commercial. I say, in a time of recession if it works, it works.

Personally I think Isabel Marant is doing a great job making wearable pieces that also look luxe without trying too hard.
