Zouk Singapore recently moved from its home of twenty five years at Jiak Kim Street to the local clubbing hot spot of Clarke Quay and they certainly did their ‘soft’ opening in style – by partying from Christmas eve to their grand opening, which is slated on the 13th of January. But before that, as mentioned, Zouk already has planned out a month full of parties which goes even beyond the official opening! So what has happened and what can you look forward to?

The interior of the main room has light features crafted by Barcelona-based lighting design firm LEDSCONTROL. The result is an industrial and futuristic design, forming a spaceship-like aluminium body with laser cut patterns and eight perimeter arrow-shaped pieces that drop down where necessary.

The interior of the new Zouk Singapore with the light features.

Those who attended the New Year’s Eve party with DJs Hong & Lincey enthralled by the sea of 120 different light patterns and concentrated beams, adding to the atmosphere of the club while retaining the same old Zouk flavour.

The main area on New Year’s Day

Unlike the previous premise, the large club can now become a superclub where the wall between Phuture and the main Zouk arena can collapse and the space combined. Which is why the official opening will be celebrated in style and with a bang no less, with renown music producer Diplo! The club will be taking on its superclub-like space for the first time by combining both Zouk and Phuture to accommodate this momentous event.

Thomas Wesley Pent, better known as Diplo, is one of the most dynamic forces in music today. He is as much as an international brand as he is a musician, DJ and producer. He’s proven himself to be an ubiquitous cultural figure, consistently bridging high and low, mainstream and underground music with remarking tact and reverence.

Regardless whether you’re an old or new fan of Zouk, there’s a party for you to enjoy at their new home at Clarke Quay. There is a reason, after all, why Zouk is one of Singapore’s longest lasting night entertainment institutions.

Zouk admission on 13th January for non-members will be SGD45. For more information on the other events, please visit www.zoukclub.com.
